I am sure not going to be downloading that almost 2G to get Feisty Fawn, just to be able to do a upgrade to Gutsy Gibbon. It will take me 2 days to download that on my 128k line

A fresh install, I reckon will be much faster.

A new year has arrived. After a 3 month absence from posting on the blog, I sure hope this year will be more productive

All is well after the holidays, now it is time to check what can be mended or broken and then mended…lol

Well thanks to Rob over at iScatterlings whom in return thanks some other folks. I have decided to run with this. I don’t usually blog/post that much or often.
Thus I think I should really re-take that quiz. 71% is pretty steep, but I think I made it up with reading blogs, now that I can do. Man I should get paid to surf the net.

When I first decided to log onto facebook, like two months ago, there were barely 289 users for Namibia. Today it is a complete different story, over 900 and counting.

Even managed to pick up some old school buddies this time round.

Last night there was but one article on digg regarding the hd dvd key. The guys post, comments and account was deleted. And then he reposted.This morning, not more than 7 hours later since the last time I checked. There seems to be a hell of a lot more articles about it.

Techcrunch has an article about the whole affair. There is also an post on the digg blog regarding this.

It seems the Digg Administrators have changed their views on the whole issue and are allowing the posts to go through/remain on Digg, according to a post on the Digg blog  by Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg

Yeah I finally got a hold of a copy. Not bad at all, saves me from a lot of downloads. I only had to get like 32mb Just java and flash plugins for firefox.

I did manage to get the SMC2802 v2 card running aswell under ndiswrapper, which I very gratefull for, otherwise I would have still been dual booting Windows 2000. Only thing is it takes up a lot of space with games and apps I won’t be using. Better to remove than having to download I guess.

My digital camera also worked just fine when I plugged it in. DigiKam helped a lot.

So all that still needs to be done is to copy all my data from the old harddrive and then I am set again.

I must admit I am quite amazed at the at what the pc is capable of, Athlon XP 1700+ running at 1.4Ghz with 51mb pc133 ram. It goes quite well
